Raymond made a bank loan of $40,000 and borrowed another $40,000 from his relatives, to start his lingerie business which he named Victoria’s Secret, and on its first year, the company earned $500,000. Raymond first opened the Victoria’s Secret store at the Stanford Shopping Center, after he was trying to buy a lingerie for his wife in a department store, and feeling awkward and embarrassed with the situation.
